Cruise the Galapagos Islands in style
We are thrilled to announce the addition of the Cachalote Explorer!
Originally a fishing boat, built in 1988 in Vancouver, Canada, this large and spacious motor vessel was converted into a passenger vessel in the early 2000’s. The Galapagos cruise ship will have 8 cabins (16 pax.) each with their own private bathroom equipped with Hot and Cold-water shower, air-conditioned throughout, and a large salon/dining area with multiple large deck areas for relaxing, eating and socializing.
This charming and comfortable First-Class yacht was built for the rough waters of the Canadian West Coast, so it will provide a stable, smooth and relaxing ride while on your beautiful Galapagos small ship tour.
The Cachalote Explorer offers the option of 6, 8 and 15 day Galapagos Islands small boat cruise itineraries that visit selected sites which are approved by the Galapagos National Park; each of these is unique, rich and varied and offer the opportunity to experience Galapagos up close and personal with a small group led by a highly experienced naturalist guide. The two 8 day itineraries are able to be combined to form a 15-day itinerary which we highly recommend for those travelers that would like to have a complete, in-depth Galapagos Islands small boat cruise.
The Cachalote Explorer is the ideal boat that replaces the Cachalote I in the Galapagos Islands. Along her sister boat the Beluga they will be offering safari-style live-aboard cruises of the Galapagos National Park.

A Wildlife Exploration Cruise!
The Cachalote Explorer will be offering cruises in the Galapagos Islands. Ideal for those travelers who are enthusiastic about wildlife and enjoy being active. This boat offers an authentic, intimate and adventurous experience in the Galapagos Islands while providing the guests a first class service. Whilst most of the day time is spent exploring the islands and snorkeling in this National Park and Marine Reserve, there is also time to relax on deck while the boat cruises from one visitor site to the next.
Comfortable and beautifully decorated she accommodated 16 passengers in her 8 cabins all with private ensuite hot/cold showers, and independent air conditioning units. Plenty of deck space with seats and cushions to relax in the shade or sunbathe during the cruise.
While cruising through the Galapagos islands guests have the opportunity to observe unique and abundant wildlife, walk along unusual volcanic terrain, snorkel with sea lions and marine turtles, and spot dolphins and whales from deck!
The Boat Experience
Cruising through the Galapagos offers travelers the unique experience of visiting many areas of the archipelago that are only accessible by a live aboard boat. This really is the only way to truly appreciate the Galapagos wildlife, both on land and in the water. Each day guests awaken in a new part of the islands and disembark shortly after breakfast for the morning activities, which include a walk or hike on land followed by a snorkeling excursion. After lunch the boat moves to a new visitor site and during this time guests have the opportunity to rest and look for whales and dolphins from deck. Later in the afternoon the guests disembark for another nature walk, and perhaps another opportunity to snorkel and swim.
The Cachalote Explorer is a 16 passenger small ship; this small exclusive group sizes ensures that our passengers are able to gain access to all the best visitor sites, some of which are closed to the bigger cruise ships.
